Your results from your ads will suck if you don’t read this and implement this information…

There are two important things you need to do with your ads to have a successful campaign:

1️⃣ Grab their attention.
2️⃣ Make them consume your ad.

If you can do this, you will get the attention of your targeted audience and make them consume your ad.

Today, we will talk about grabbing their attention.

In Part 2 of this blog, I will tell you how to make them consume your content so you can make them click the action step of the ad.

I found this information online: everyone sees about 5,000 ads and/or branded messages per day. I have no idea who came up with that number—it sounds random and made up. But we both know there is a LOT of marketing competing for your target audience's attention.

That’s why you need to make their thumb stop scrolling.

What is the best way to hook their attention?

Before I tell you what to do, I will tell you what NOT to do.

There are a lot of ads out there that don’t have a hook.

“What is a hook?” A hook is something that will grab their attention because you're teasing something they need or want at the beginning of the ad…

Here is a common mistake I see businesses make with their ads:

“Hey, we are LX Marketing, and we love our clients, and we are great at what we do.”

My point is—you are talking about your company and who you are, and I want you to understand that no one cares about you.

People care about themselves.

If you want to grab their attention, you need to know their pain points or dream state (if you’ve been in business for a while, you’ll know this). You must grab their attention by mentioning their pain or dream outcome in the first three seconds of your ad.

Example Hook for a Chiropractor

(You can use this hook for any business.)

“If your back hurts, that causes a headache, and you can’t focus on your job, then…”

As you can see, I immediately talk about their pain.

I do this because people who actually have back pain will listen to what I am going to say.

There are many ways to hook your ideal clients, but this "If… Then…" hook is a solid way to grab their attention.

How to Be Creative with Your Hooks?

Let’s take the chiropractor example again…

If a chiropractor uses the hook I mentioned above, he will get results, but there are ways to improve the hooks:

🔹 Show their dream state or you fixing their pain.→ A chiropractor cracking a back while saying the hook.

🔹 Show the client’s reaction (before & after feelings).→ After the hook, show the client expressing relief.

🔹 Demonstrate the problem and solution.→ Show their pain, solve it, and then show their desired outcome.

But for the love of God, don’t talk about yourself or how great you are.

People care about them, not about you.

People also pay attention to beautiful things, movement, drama, etc. (I will talk about this in Part 2 of this blog.)

I'm telling you this because you can use these elements to improve your hooks.

Example of a Good Hook for One of Our Clients…

As you can see there is movement, a beautiful sunset, and a solid hook.

“Are you visiting Ohrid?”

If they are going to visit Ohrid, I will grab their attention instantly.

There are multiple ways to grab and keep attention, but if you apply this knowledge, your ads will improve because now, your marketing will attract the right people.
