Stupid Advertising Mistakes That Business Owners Make
In the next three minutes, you’ll learn how to actually make money with your advertising and measure the results—not just advertise.
Business owners often advertise for engagement, likes, views, and followers, thinking:
“If more people see my ad, I’ll get more clients.”
Wrong.
Views are awesome—but they don’t make us money.
Coca-Cola runs ads to build brand identity—which is great if you have a $100 million marketing budget.
If you do, go for it!
But I assume you don’t.
You need clients.
Why Boosting Posts for Engagement Is a Waste
Don’t just post your work and boost the post for engagement.
The Boost tool is designed to increase likes and followers—but you won’t get the most out of your marketing budget.
Why?
Because every business does the same thing.
So… how can you get better results from your advertising?
1. Use Direct Marketing
Make an offer. Ask for their contact info (number, email, book an appointment, etc.).
Measure your results—don’t just advertise for likes.
Important Tip: Don’t ask them to call you immediately.
Why? They might be on a bus, at work, or too busy to call.
Instead, ask for their contact information so they can respond when they’re ready.
If they see that you can help them, they will give you their contact info—even on a bus.
2. Measure Your Marketing
Track your ad spend vs. return. Example: If you invest $15, the goal is to make $30 back. If not, stop advertising (this depends on your service cost).
Ask every client: "How did you find us?"
By doing this, you’ll know exactly how many people bought your service because of your ads.
