If you have bigger ambitions for your business but don’t have the team for it because they are lazy, you have to take some steps to change their mindset

I will talk about the best ways to manage your staff so you can achieve your goals.

The information below is based on research. I saw what big companies do in this situation and decided to write an article on how to manage your staff and achieve your goals.

Hiring New People vs. Managing Existing Staff

Hiring more people and trying to find new talent is a viable option, but it will cost you a lot of money and time to train them.

You could also increase the payroll of your employees to motivate them, but how you manage your team is key—they need to deserve the money.

So let’s make them achieve your goals

You Can’t Work With Dumb People.

Some companies have rules like:

“Don’t watch Netflix while you work.”

That's pathetic—everyone knows that you shouldn’t watch Netflix while working.

You need to raise your standards and fire dumb people because they are holding you back.

If you have them, they need to go. But if you have employees with potential and you're not satisfied with their work, then it’s your fault…

YOU SHOULD HAVE DAILY MEETINGS WITH YOUR STAFF.

📌 Hold a daily meeting—one hour before or after work.

📌 Remind them daily of the correct procedures in your business.

📌 Show them how important your goals are for the business.

📌 Acknowledge their work, but tell them, "Good is not good enough."

A Simple Exercise

Take a piece of paper and write the names of every staff member.

Ask yourself these key questions:

  • How much money did [Employee Name] make me this month?

  • How much did they cost me?

  • What tasks did they complete?

  • How much time would it have taken me to do those tasks?

  • Was it worth the money?

Example: Elon Musk bought Twitter and fired 7,500 people because he had negative answers to these questions. He kept the people who deserved the job and completed important tasks for the company.

The Hard Truth: Some People Must Go

I get it—you like some people in your business, and firing them is hard.

So what’s the solution to that situation?

They will either improve, or they need to go because if they don’t, you won’t achieve your ambitions.

Tell them your situation, and they will understand.

But don’t fire them immediately. Instead, offer them a chance to help you achieve your goals.

How to Keep Employees Without Holding Your Business Back

If someone can’t help you, but they’ve worked in your company for a long time, and it’s hard for you to fire them, here’s what you do:

Say to them: “Hey, I've found a guy who knows more than you and me combined about X, and I want him to teach you his skills. I will pay him $2,000 a month so you can learn from him and expand your skills, PLUS I will achieve my goals easier.”

Now, instead of firing them, you are giving them a chance to improve their skills.

Now, you will sleep easier and achieve your goals faster.

Sincerely,
